Hello my name is Lore. I homeschool my 17yr old and 10yr old. We have been homeschooling since Feb 1999. I was NEVER going to homeschool. In fact we did not homeschool our 4 oldest. But when God tells you to do something I have learned that it is best not to argue with Him and just do it. I must admit I know my younger kids much better than I ever knew my older kids.

Hello There,

I'm Lisa,
I have a daughter who is almost 9 and a son who just turned 7 and is autistic (very high functioning).

We've been homeschooling for about 4.5 years now. I was homeschooled in my last years of highschool and I felt a strong calling to homeschool my own children. So when my husband and I were dating and talking about our future, I said that I wanted to homeschool the kids. Fortunately, he had seen some homeschoolers and thought that they were pretty smart and was all for homeschooling. To this day, he still is.

I've been posting and reading off and on in the homeschool forum and have really enjoyed it.

Thanks,
Bagel

I have been HSing for almost 12 years. I have a 16 yob, 8yob, 6yog, and 3 yob.

There isn't anything I don't love about homeschooling, even the downside is an upside!

Hi,

We just finished our sixth year of homeschooling. I currently am teaching my 12 yog, my 9 yob, and my 6 yog. However, whenever we are doing school work, my 4 yob (as of today!) will tell me he wants to do school work too. So I will give him an old math, handwriting, or whatever is handy and let him color on it.

In His Service,
Vic

Here!

My name is Lisa. I homeschool my oldest three. They will be going into 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grade this fall. I was homeschooled, as was my husband, as as far as I'm concerned it's the only way to do things. :) I'm also the wife of a full time college student who has one year left and then will be done with school! WoooHooo!

I love homeschooling!

I'm Cindy, currently homeschooling 4 out of 5. The oldest has graduated. None of my kids has ever been to school. Child number 4 is dyslexic.

We do lots of projects/unit studies and generally homeschool year round. Most of the time I love it, but there was that one day last week . . .

I also work full time as a pediatric RN.

Hi, all, I'm Katrina, Navy wife to Carl and we are currently home-preschooling our 4 1/2 year old and 3 year old daughters. I also have a 1 year old daughter that runs around like a monkey in the meantime. ;) We are using Weaver Interlock and we like it a lot. We like to do projects and unit studies and have been schooling year around.

We've been homeschooling for 6 years now. We have one child. My daughter is almost 16 and is going to be starting 10th grade in the fall.

We sign-up for HSLDA every year. I think it's a wonderful safety-net for homeschoolers. I enjoy reading the posts here at Crosswalk Forums.

I have 3 kids and just finished our first year of HSing and think it went well. My oldest dd is 9 and just finished 3rd grade. My 2nd dd is almost 7 and went through 1st and 2nd grade work this year. my ds is 4.5 yrs old. Just over a year ago we made the decision to hold him off a yr. on K before we decided to HS. He will be attending his 3rd year at a local christian preschool and we will also start doing K work with him next year. He will spend about 6 hrs a week at preschool.

Hi!

We have been homeschooling 9 years now! **GASP!** We have 6 kiddos ages 15g, 13g, 11b, 9b, 7b, & 5b

I won't go into grades cause they are all over the place. If my 15yo had her chemistry and biology(lab type sciences) and 1 math beyond algebra she'd be set so far as the local high school standards. BUT mom's standards are a bit higher. She has yet to fully grasp algebra so she will be in year #3 algebra and curriculum #4 for it as well. Really, I am not pulling my hair out over it

We aren't looking at quitting anytime soon. We experianced some of the local highscool during eldests Drivers Education classes and she'd come out everyday and hug me and thank me for homeschooling her.

We will be adding BJU HomeSat to ourcurriculum list this next year.

As my handle suggests, my name is Cynthia.
I am home educating three children. Two girls, ages 11 and 8 and one 5yo boy. In the fall, we will be doing 6th grade, 3rd grade and 1st grade. Where has the time gone? We are just completing our sixth year of home education.

Hi. We have one 11yob being home taught. He will be going into 6th grade this fall. Our family also consists of 21yo dd, college senior; 19yo ds, currently on active duty in the army national guard; and 15yo dd, will be attending the local ps as a sophmore this fall. This will be the 6th year of hsing this last child, however #'s 2 & 3 were also at home for some of their schooling. (Ds19 for 9-10 grade; dd15 for 6-8 grade.)

Hello, my name is Lisa. I have homeschooled for six years -- albeit 3 years and then a gap of several years and then another 3 years. I don't foresee us doing anything else but homeschooling. I am homeschooling a 16 yog, 14 yog, 12 yob, and 5 yog. They will be in 11th, 9th, 7th, and kindergarten this next school year. We really homeschool all year round, but we change grades more or less in the fall.

My name is Susan, I will be homeschooling for the first time this fall. I have a 12 y/o daughter who will be homeschooled for 8th grade. I also have a 10 year old daughter who will contnue in her public magnet elementary school for 5th grade. The girls are both very bright, and have been in gifted and talented programs in public school all the way, as my husband has been a huge advocate of public school. However, this year in 7th grade my older dd has been bullied mercilessly in her huge public middle school, and he finally agreed to let me home school her this coming year. His plan is to then transfer her to a different high school, but we will see what God has planned! This forum has been very helpful to me as I plan and look ahead to the coming year! Thank you all for your Godly advice and support for each other!

Hi

My name is Sandi. I have five children (born from 1991-2002) and have been homeschooling since 1996, in one of the hardest states to homeschool in. It has been an intense journey, filled with all sorts of agonies and ecstasies- and a lot of fun thrown in between- gotta love it.

I'm Bryan and have been homeschooling for four years. One is just finishing high school and the other is starting junior high. We're using Singapore math and Abeka for most other topics. Other than yearly testing, we luckily have very little to do with the local public school system.

Hello, I'm Linda. Me and my kiddos are getting ready for our 3rd year of hsing. The 1st year was tough, the 2nd a lot easier and I'm expecting the 3rd to be just as pleasant. However, I'm a little shocked that they are going into the 3rd and 5th grades. They can't be that old. They were just babies yesterday.

Texas is a homeschoolers paradise.

Hello. I'm Selah and we've been educating our children at home for 12 years now. This year we are teaching grades 7, 9 and 12. We are fully commited to Christ, but we are not your typical 'homeschool' type people. We try to raise our children with integrity and Godly character in every way, but we also keep them pretty plugged into the culture. One example, my daughter has the tips of her hair dyed pink.

We keep an outrageously busy social life, but use a pretty strict textbook curriculum at the same time. We mostly use Abeka, Saxon, and Apologia. We firmly believe that whether you should homeschool or not depends on what is best for your family. There are pros and cons to both. For us... we love home education! My teens prefer it.

My wife and I have been homeschooling our 2 girls, ages 13 and 10 for 3 years now. We love it! I'm in the Air Force Reserves and we started homeschooling when I was activated after 9-11 and worked a 4 hour drive from home to allow us flexibility. Since then, we've continued because we feel this is what God wants us to do.

Hi, I'm Martha. We are beginning our 3rd year in this great adventure of homeschooling. I have an 8yob, 7yob, and a 5yob. So that means K, 1st and 2nd grades. I am going with ABeka this year, except for reading, art and music. Getting everything organized and ready to go.
YEAH!!!! It's exciting to begin again/continue something you know God has called you to do.
