I got milk at CVS instead of going to the grocery store. a) it's the same price, b) I had an Extra Care Buck so it was $1 off, and c) I didn't buy other stuff (though we need fruits and veggies, we'll eat the ones we're avoiding instead of buying the favorites and having the oranges go bad).

I live close to my work...so I walked to work . I do this most of the time, saves on gas, wear on the car. Been doing this for about two years.

Shopped at two of my favorite thrift stores today & saved a ton of $! Dh got some dress shirts and I got a couple for my dad as well. We bought 4 VHS tapes for $1.97 each, so that was cheap entertainment for us!
I finally applied for the discount card at the one thrift store, so now I can get 25% off everything on Thursdays. Yeah.
Took the SUV for an oil change and service. I guess you could say properly maintaining a vehicle is cost saving in the long run -- no expensive repairs down the road, prayerfully. :)

Thrift store! Ds1 desperately needed new swim shorts. Call me cheap, but I'm not willing to shell out $50 for swim shorts! SwimOutlet has some for $20, plus a guy that makes our custom tights can make 'em for about the same. But, I wanted to see what I could find at the thrift store. I did end up shelling out $20--two pairs of swim shorts for ds1, two pairs of runnign shorts for ds1, two brand-new-tags-still-on-them Speedo swim suits for me, a running shirt for me, and two books.
That cleared me out of cash, so on the way home I didn't stop for the ice cream that I desperately wanted.

Not today, but...
We have a coffee club at work. $6 a month vs $1.08 a day (if you bring your own cup, $1.84 if you don't).
And, the sad part is, now that I can get all I want for the month, I drink less.

I didn't leave the house!!! Yesterday I went to WalMart and only bought EXACTLY what we needed! All I've done today has been laundry...(high efficiency washer & dryer). I also filled an entire bag of children's clothes, all clothes my girls have outgrown. They'll go to Samaritan House tomorrow. I have more children's clothes to donate.
So, I guess I really didn't "save" any money today...but I didn't spend any either!

Hubby checked out a Wii game from the library, instead of buying or renting one. Not that he was going to go out and buy one today, but you get the idea. Hopefully we can avoid buying games by checking some out, or at least buying ones we know we like after checking them out.
I think he checked out a movie to watch while on the treadmill also.

Bought a K-Tag so on Wed. I can take the toll road coming & going to Wichita & can save time by not having to choose a line & wait behind the semis to pay.

Bought a newer vehicle for ds2. Then he will pass it on to ds3. Then he will pass it on to ds4. Then I will drive it & pass it on to gs. It is a Honda so I plan to own it at least a decade or longer.

This week I:
• Called the electric company to complain about 2 straight months of estimated readings. Shaved $37 off my bill!
• Called the gas company and avoided an estimated read from them. Unknown $ saved from over-estimate.
• Called phone company, changed my plan and shaved about $15 off of future bills.
• Bought 5 frozen dinners at grocery store, thus reducing urge to eat out at lunch/dinner time at work. And bought some food from AngelFood. (Noticed that every other month, they have a good menu ... specificially did NOT buy certain things b/c they're cheaper in stores!)
Tonight I'll be packing a peanut butter sandwich for tomorrow.

Today I got some free things from Freecycle on the way home from an errand.
Can't beat the price.

I always color my hair myself! Can't beat the price. And though it wasn't on sale (I'm very picky about my brand because I found a color that works for me) I did have a $5 coupon off two of them.

What did you do today to save money? - 
MARRIED TO A MILITARY PILOT 
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS! 
I find it's the little inexpensive things purchased "here" and "there" that add up over time. So I restrained the desire to buy a book and was frugal today, yay for me!
