Funny thing about our pastor; he's a former AOG . I was thrilled when I found out and we have briefly talked about our family members. While we were going through our membership classes with him I told him I scared I was about the rapture after I had seen "A Thief In The Night." He knew exactly what I was talking about.

Happy Birthday Euty, I think.

Does that mean your birthday changed?

For our edification:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

Thanks for the edification!

Woke up this am to just enough snow to be beautiful! Mountains out the window jetting up a short mile. Showing His glory like diamonds dancing in Sonlight. Only God could paint the His sky such a blue....

Thanks Euty. BTW, I like the portrait.

It reminds me of the terms occidental and oriental. Oriental basically is a derogatory terms which put nicely means "other than us".

In that sense, we Christians in this world are oriental.

Do you think I could ask for chopsticks at the marriage supper of the Lamb?

I don't know if you take the "Room & Board" e-newsletter from Crosswalk.com, but a quote by brother Gregory was featured in this week's issue:

1. QUOTABLE

"The point of the Worship hour is to worship God, and yet we want our service messages to be (1) Evangelism to the unsaved, (2) welcoming instructions to the newly saved, (3) mature exhortation to service for adult disciples, (4) instructions to the local congregation for mission and ministry."

Well, tomorrow, God willing, me and my two girls-still-at-home take off for Kentucky, where will be privileged to visit a real reformed church where my girl-who-is-not-still-at-home attends with her husband of 8 months. We are excited! Too bad we have to travel 1000 miles to attend a church where there is good doctrine and so far, no weirdness.

I had no idea there was such an e-newsletter.

I'm amazed something like that came off of my fingers.

Praise God. All the time I was wondering about Balaam's donkey and then I go and emulate it.

I just noticed that Barbara Feldon (Agent 99 on "Get Smart") turns 77 years old today. It kinda messes with my head to think that this woman, who I thought was so attactive when I was a teen, is about the same age as my dear mother.
