Cynthia,

I wasn't trying to argue with you-I was just having fun! Sorry it didn't come across that way.

You didn't. I was teasing you. Sorry. I should have used a smiley.

Well, it is most decidedly a snow day here. We got quite the dumping last night, and it's expected to continue for 3 more days.

Kara, we got a little bit of snow last night. We are on the West Coast of Lake Huron. north of Port Huron, MI. We are a block from the harbor and all of our tv stations are Canadian!!
BTW, Ds told me if we move from here, he is going to miss CTV!
Ds wants to know if you have ever watched Corner Gas on tv?

LOL ... we're in Sarnia, right across from Port Huron (although I think I've mentioned that before ... dunno ... post-partum brain!)

We love Corner Gas!!! We are because it is in its final season. They've decided not to do any more episodes after this year. Royal Canadian Air Farce is ending this year as well.

Ds will miss it!!

We can't go to Canada because we never applied for passports. I think that law was kind of dumb. If any terrorists were to invade us, I don't think they would use the Blue Water Bridge.

RANT Ds got a dumb book from the library. Here is the plot- the characters get a message from the future. The message was sent from themselves and contains winning lottery numbers!
END of RANT
He also found another book called Hunter Brown and the Secret of the Shadows Here's a quote from the author's website.
quote:

The Codebearers Series was developed by the creative brother team of Christopher & Allan Miller. The Miller brothers have had the distinct privilege of growing up in a CBA Bookstore. As children they learned first hand the value of faith-based stories while helping their parents operate several Christian bookstores and book clubs for 30 years. As a result, they founded Lumination Studios, a creative house that is geared toward developing stories of faith and fantasy for families everywhere. Their focus is to create properties that boys will especially love to read and watch.

We have had terrorists try to come through the Peace Arch crossing, which is a major border crossing. Many terrorists figure they have a better chance of going through where there is a lot of traffic, since they will perhaps not receive as much scrutiny.

Is there chat tonight?

I gave Noah his eye drops. So far, so good, he actually put his down nice for me. The Atropine (sp?) Could have some nasty side affects. Pray that it doesn't.

Donna,

You're right-vinegar will work. All I need to do is buy some-I'm out of it and put it in a bowl and then put the bowl in the insert. The vinegar should absorb the odor from the insert.

DD2 has been hung up on long division. ALl the steps and estimating is driving her nuts. I decided to take a break from doing "division" and have her do problems like _____ X 18=486. Teaching her to estimate what was close and then to figure out what it needed to end with to get the last digit correct. For at least a week I would get through about 3 problems where I did most of it and she just looked at me like I was losing my mind. Eventually she would get so frustrated we had to quit. Well, today she just did 6 problems, basically on her own with no tears. YAY!!!!

Hi ya, Sarah!

I am terrible about getting to bed at a reasonable time when dh is out of town. Then I oversleep and my whole day is off kilter. I have to stop doing that. Dh will be home Friday, so I've got two more night of this and better get with the program. I woke up this morning and had a visitor in my bed. Mr. Manly crawled in with me. He was very rude to me last night. I had been reading him a book and he was angry with me for something (that was his fault really). Finally after his rude comments, I shut the book, told him I would not tollerate being spoken to and treated in that manner, then left. Funny how he then turned up in my bed. I spoke to him about it this morning and he apologized.

He is taking the plumbing apart? Judy, the last time you told us he did that, he gave it to the neighbors and never replaced it. How old is your husband?

Cynthia, I think he gave the house back to the owner. That was in Oklahoma. Oh well, there are benefits to not living in OK. At least I can sit on the computer and watch the harbor for terrorists oops I mean freighters at the same time. Besides, if he totally messes everything up, I will get into the motor home and go park in one of the older kids driveway. I have a long extension cord and electric heaters....

RANT
While I was cooking the spaghetti, Ds decided to download Mozilla Firefox. NOW I cannot FIND Internet Explorer!! SOME of the buttons on CW are also MISSING!!!

Judii,

Some of us use Mozilla as our browser and are quite happy with it. Something went wrong with the download because you should be able to have all the buttons for CW.

Your son may have set Mozilla as your start up option which explains why you can't find IE. You can always search for it by clicking on your start button, click the search open and then type in internet explorer.

Forgot to add-once Mozilla was installed was the computer shut down and then restarted? Most of the time when you install something new, you have to restart the computer in order for the program to work properly.

We use Mozilla Firefox. I like it, but it does not work with some things (links or windows will not open up as needed). I use both of them, just open IE when I see a problem. It does not happen very often.

Judy, the goat in the picture is alive, well, and (we hope) bred.

We haven't gotten passports either, mainly because if I remember correctly they're about $100 a pop. That's a lot of money when you have as many people as we have here. I will miss going to Canada, though. We used to spend a lot of time at Niagara Falls. My cousins used to live on the American side and we'd just walk over the bridge. We've actually been discussing the whole passport thing and will most likely get one every few months until we all have them, because we'd like to be able to go on some of the mission trips our church is involved with. That won't start until we have a few other things paid for, though.

Two of the dogs got stupid and went after one of the cats the other day. They didn't intend to hurt her - they were outside romping around and didn't see any reason why the cat shouldn't join in on the fun. Nobody actually saw what happened, but the most likely scenario is that she got pounced on by an 80 lb dog going at full speed. I don't think she's badly injured - she is up and around a little, albeit slowly, and she still purrs and allows us to pick her up. We gave her something for pain and are keeping her quiet. Nike got a good gash on her ear from the cat, which she totally deserved, but the funniest thing is that now she wants to take care of the cat. Of course Moogle wants nothing to do with her, so she lays down a little bit away and whines and looks all worried. It's hysterical.

Poor kitty!!

I found IE and set it as the default browser. I am still going to use Mozilla, too.

Cindy, a friend of ours has a Barbados sheep. It looks just like a goat.
Here's a link to some pictures.

I've never had a passport. Dh shocked me yesterday. He has a couple of international travels coming up. He has suggested that I go with him. Each trip would be 10 days. Um... 4 kids? That we are home schooling?? And what do you plan to do with them??? I'm such a home body that I probably woulnd't go anyway.

I am pretty miserable today. My allergies are terrible. I took chlortrimaton this morning, which usually does the trick. Nuthin'. This afternoon I took Zyrtec. Again, nuthin'. I'm afraid I'm going to end up dehydrated due to snot output!

His-Are there any homeschooling friends that your kids can stay with......maybe separately. How international are these trips? If it were me, I'd be on my way to the post office for a passport app because it might be my only chance to go

Bagel--IRL I have no friends. We used to be part of a co-op, but due to politics we left. So I don't know what dh plans to do with the kids. I really have no desire to travel, though.
