((((((Rami)))))))I totally agree with the other women. Christians die of cancer all the time, and it's not because they didn't have enough faith. If you had cancer, would you refuse treatment? Of course not. Same difference.....It is a health condition, not a faith condition.

Jeanie,

My husband doesn't have that specific mat, but he has a different rubbery-type one he uses on the concrete floor in his workshop when he has to stand for hours on end working on things. He says it is a lifesaver and REALLY helps his back. So I think the one you're looking at would work really well too.

Thanks, Amber. It's nice to know they make a difference, even if it is a different kind.

I got an appointment this Saturday at 10:10am to get my Implanon rod put in. Not sure how I'm feeling about it. I really want to have more kids. The Implanon lasts three years. If Robert doesn't miraculously get some killer job within that timeframe, he's getting a V.

Stina what is the rod you are talking about? I will be praying for you.

Rami hopefully your doctor can point you in the right direction for help. Maybe speaking to some women in church etc will help. Do you have family or friends around you to help?

See a doctor. Faith is important to the process of healing, but...if your hormones are screwy, your hormones are screwy and that's not a faith matter, nor is brain chemistry.
btw, I have the sling ready to go. pm me an address. :)

Ruth, thanks for mentioning pictures. I wanted to get some pics before we move in and mess it all up.

I agree with the other girls Rami.
I've been very open in the past about the fact that I take prozac for chronic depression. God has brought me far, but I take the medication and am grateful for it.

Rami, I'm glad you're going to see the doctor. And the other ladies are right, so I won't repeat them.

Stina, three years is a long time to see what God will do. (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Rami, PP depression is incredibly common. The doctor will NOT think you are crazy or unfit.

(((Christina)))

(((Rami))) - Praying for you!

Hunter has a cough, not a constant cough, but he is coughing throughout the day. I asked the pharmacist last night at Target and she said I would have to call my pediatrician and go by his recommendations. I am going to call this morning and see what the doctor's office has me do, but I have a feeling they will want me to bring him in. It is not a croupy cough, he is not running a fever, and for the most part is acting like he feels ok. He does have a runny nose so I think it is just a common cold. Do you give your children cough medicine or take them to the doctor for a simple cold? I am not use to him being sick so when it comes to a common cold I have no clue if he really needs medicine/doctor visit or not.

I am really struggling with fear right now as I now know who our president is going to be. I should not read some of the other threads on CW, but I have and what people are saying is scary. I just want to cry out in fear about where our country is headed and I am just being tormented right now. Please don't get me wrong I want to spend eternity with my Savior, but I still struggle with things I want to accomplish on earth. Is it wrong for me to still want more children, to want to see who my son grows up to be, to want to grow old with my husband...am I the only Christian wife/mom who has these desires?

Chelle- I am so there with you- I do not get paralized by it, but I must say, this is the only election which has truly struck fear in me If we are in the end times, there will be lots of struggles (and I have no idea if that is where we are), but I just have to trust that God is still on His throne and He loves and protects my family. I am sure there will be fall out from this election, and I *know* that it will affect my family in some ways, but I still need to raise Godly children-what if this is not the end? What if there is still another 1000 years? The world will still need Christians to witness to them- if we don't raise them, who will? It's funny, this morning Eleni was in a philisophical mood I guess, 'cause I got the "is Santa for real question" and also "I don't want to go to heaven, do you?" question- deep talks for first thing in the morning! I told her that I very much wanted to go to heaven, but I hope that didn't happen for a very long time (which is really what she meant too). I've only put in 5 years at the parenting thing, but I still want the payoff of grandkids- already look forward to it

Garsy- I thought you homeschooled? If not, who cares if you are home? If so, then you still *need* to be home

Does God understand those desires we have? Is it wrong as Christians to desire those things? Sometimes even though I was raised in church I still feel like I struggle with having the answers

Chelle- God made us to have those desires- what good would we be if we had no goals/dreams/directions? What kind of mother *doesn't* want to see her children grow up? How do we know that these desires are not from God? For me, I think that the desires are fine, so long as they do not interfere with other things (ie. I am so into my child that I neglect my own spiritual needs)

I'm really having a hard time with depression and anxiety and I don't know what to do. Everyone keeps telling me to talk to a doctor and get some help but I think that would be wrong because doesn't that mean I don't have enough faith or that I'm not close enough to God?

Rami, could I just ask where you got that idea from?

I've prayed and prayed that He would make it go away but it's not going away and some days I just think I'm going crazy. I can't remember anything and I cry all the time and I'm just a hot mess. And if everyone found out that I was being medicated then they would think that I'm a bad christian.

What makes you think that? (your last sentence)

WOW....it is sooooooo sad what the Christian community has done to people when it comes to "mental health" issues!!! SAD...really sad!!!!
NO you should not feel guilty over this. You just had a baby...your body is out of whack, your hormones are going berzirk, and believe it or not, it's NOT a faith issue!!!! It's a physical side affect of having a baby!!! EVERY women goes through the highs and lows, but some women react to them more easily then others. There is nothing wrong with seeing a dr about it, and t here is nothing wrong with getting medication if you need it. It doesn't show a weakness spiritually, it shows that you are a human being created by a wonderful God who thought to put hormones in place in your body!!! It is so amazing how God created the body to work, and sometimes it just needs a bit of help.

I have had to be on meds a few times...and if you want to talk in private about it then feel free to PM me about it.

As for physically...it is normal to hit that at this stage. Your body is starting to try to regulate itself again...your hormones are starting to kick back in and try to get your cycle to start up again...and that can be a very hard time emotionally for a lot of women.

Some women find that taking certain vitamin supplements helps them out tremendously, while other women find that they needs something stronger. It's all ok, and should not be looked as so negatively by the Christian community, though I have found that in general it is. They can get easily behind vitamins or the like, but when you mention dr prescribed med's they automatically go to the "it's a faith issue" talk...and it's so very downing to those who's bodies need the help to regulate.

You'd be unfit if you had a severe problem and did not seek help (in my opinion). The overwhelming majority of doctors are looking for ways to help families, not tear them apart. And Sandy is right PPD is extremely common. Doctors are usually on the lookout for it, not because they want to take your baby away, but because it is so much healthier for everyone to treat it early.

Chelle, I would encourage you to stay away from those thread all together. They are jam packed with exaggerations, lies and half-truths about Obama. They will only make your fears worse, and for no good reason.

I would encourage you to seek out information from a wide variety of sources, not because any one source is totally unbiased, but by looking through the eyes of many different folks, it helps to develop a more balanced perspective.

Obama is not the Anti-Christ. Obama is not Hitler. Obama will not bring about the end of the world. The odds are extremely high that you will see your son grow up and have children of his own and that you will grow old will your hubby.

There are some very good reasons why conservatives don't like Obama, but he does have a lot of positive things about him as well. I can tell you that a lot of us were gripped with fear and apprehension when Bush got his second term as Pres, thinking that he would drive us to ruin and war with even more countries (I was nervous about Bush and Korea myself for a while). We are all still here.

You'll be fine, my good lady, and so will we all.

I'm sorry ladies... between the old thread and new thread I couldn't keep up. Let me know if I missed something I need to know!!

Brandy: Did you find a big pumpkin?

Jeanie: Did you make a decision on the mat?

Ryanne: How is your job?

Chelle:
I'm uneasy as well, but not because I think Obama is the anti-christ, a muslim, or going to bring about the return of Christ. I honestly believe we have years and years before that's going to happen. I feel comfortable knowing I will see my son grow up and maybe even have kids of his own. People like fear. I'm not sure why, but they do. You can look at the movie listings to prove that fact. I am SHOCKED to see the democrats win the presidency, senate, and house... but only because that isn't bipartisan and that concerns me.

Obama isn't going to bring about the end of the world. He'll do some good things and some bad things. The pendulum will swing and the republicans will take control of the office again. It will take some years, but it'll happen. It's just how it is.

Our hospital here requires that ALL new moms (even us "old pro's") so to a baby thing at the ped's clinic at about 3 weeks...they require it not for the babies (though that's how they phrase it) but so they can talk to the moms about PPD and see if they need something.
