LOL. I have many God-fearing, and some not-so-God-fearing, fellow McCain voting acquaintences that voted for McCain because they didn't want to "vote for a Muslim and Obama is a Muslim no matter what anybody says." They, too, could not give one coherent policy reason for their choice.
Most people vote on emotion, period.
I'm trying to raise a generation that will vote on reason instead. That will be my hope for the future of this country.

Any age limt has to be across the board. "Maturity" is a subjective observation. And anybody making retail purchases is a taxpayer. Republic/democratic government is it's problems, but I still prefer our elective process over any other country's.

Please give us an example of an off shore oil rig enviromental impact we are suffering under today. They have blown up before. They have caused some impact but nothing lasting or any where the impact a growing dependancy on foreign oil would engender.
An age restriction on voting would ensure conservative candidates. It ain't gonna happen.
NO ONE knew who Obama was and they voted for him...answering civics questions would not have changed that.
I have no problem with ignorant people voting. Hopefully the result will be an example to them. I am not afraid that Obama got elected. I am hopeful he will define himself and liberals for who they truly are.....
and with the backstabbing liberal media and the backbiting liberal congress we will definitly find out.

If I heard the news report right on this issue,
there was such a stink from the dems that
may be the reason they won't do another.

One of the things that needs to happen so that we don't have any more debacles like that of Nov. 4, is to take the mass media (ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, et al.) out of the equation. All of them are nothing more than mouthpieces for the DNC. I know there is "freedom of speech," but what happened this year was over the top.
Another thing that needs to happen is to stop all the illegal voter registrations and early voting. There is too much opportunity for voter fraud. All voting should occur on the first Tuesday in November as it was supposed to be. The only exceptions should be for military and other essential personnel who might not be able to have time off.
Thirdly, voter identification and verification needs to happen. No ID, no vote, end of discussion!
