I had supper with some friends a couple of months ago and He told me there Pastor had just walked out that past Sunday right in the middle of the service, Just quit talking, walked of the stage and got in hs car and left. Mt friend told me the Church had been experiencing some financial issues and he assumed this may have been the reason, He wass not real sure at that point though. That is the only time I have actually heard of someone walking out right in the middle of a service...

In response to the O.P., I've read many testimonies of people in institutionalized leadership positions leaving those positions. Do you know why those particular 4 left? Also, I'm pretty sure an internet search for pastors leaving churches could be of some insight.

When I was a member of the Clev church of God I once had a state overseer tell our congregation that the average time a pastor stayed in their church was less than 2 years. The church I attended had probably had 10 pastors in 15 years and it was mostly due to family control issues. I sat through 4 in less than 6 years myself before leaving.

rxw, I would submit that there are times God calls us to walk away. It could be because the congregation needs to move in a different direction, and the current pastor has taken them as far as they can. I've seen that happen at the church I "grew up" in my formative years as a disciple. The first pastor I knew grounded the church in the Bible with a 2 year sermon series on the book of Romans. Once we got that down, and lost a certain number of socialites in our church, we needed someone to take us further now that we had a good foundation laid as a congregation. I do not know the particulars of any of the examples given in the thread. But it is interesting to note those who shared. May we continue to provide His grace to each other in His name.
