Watched the Mariners-Rangers game last night and was a verry good game. Cliff Lee finally got his first start for the m's and pitched extremely well. Went 8 and Struck out 8.

The Tigers are looking good! They just took 2 of 3 from the Twins and have now won the first two against the Angels. I'm hopeful for a great season!

Just saw the new Twins stadium last night on The Biggest Loser. Looks nice!

The Dodgers are also looking nice.

Those Phillies had better be careful. If the Mets keep playing like they have been it's going to get really interesting come September.

The Mets will have to get past Washington first.

It's kind of neat that Washington is doing well. I like to see teams that are used to being in the basement do well--but not TOO well.

The Mets have to get past themselves before they accomplish anything. Sorriest looking team in the majors, and no sign of improvement in the near future. Until Minaya and Manuel go the team will continue to be a joke.

Wow, you seemed so happy with them on your last post on 5/12. What happened?

What happened? After winning 8 out of 9, they lost 6 of their last 7. They stopped scoring, David Wright has struck out in more than 30% of his at bats, Oliver Perez is collecting 13.5 million a year and can't get out of the third inning, the #4 starter just went out with a mysterious injury, and Jerry Manuel is laughing all the way to the bank. They have all the makings of a team that has already given up for the season. And the owner just lets them keep going merrily on their way. I predicted a third place finish this year but it's looking more and more like another fifth place ending. And I'm tired of it. Tired of the Mets jokes that I've had to listen to for the past 24 years. Tired of Yankess and Phillies fans laughing at me. Tired of "next year".

Kansas City. April brings new optimism for the new year buy by May it becomes another lost cause. Then the next four months are just painful as I watch everyone else playing meaningful games while we can only hope to not finish last.

If it makes you feel better, the Phillies lost their last two games.

You must have been happy with the way the Mets swept the Phillies last week??? Never fear, the Phillies will recoup.

I'm not getting to excited about 3 games in the second month of the season. Especially when they follow that up with 2 losses to the Brewers. Two of my starting pitchers are already gone. By September I fully expect to be mired in fourth place or lower.

Awk, be optimistic. I'd be happy to have you come in second place, and even happier to cheer against the Yankees for you.

Yea, I used to love the Royals but when I moved from Kansas to Minnesota, I made the Twins my team, still like the Royals, but it has been a long time since they were contenders.

Not sure but the last I knew the Twins were on a five game winning streak don't know how they did tonight.

Yeah, the Twins are doing everything right and my Tigers are doing everything wrong!

Except tonight that is. . . Armando Galarraga was absolutely robbed of a perfect game. Did any of you see the replay? The last out of the game, the hitter was out at first, but was called safe. The replay is indisputable. I was sick about it, but Galarraga was gracious. . .go figure. I'm sure the ump (Jim Joyce) is feeling worse than I am though. . .

In situations like this the commissioner's office should be allowed to step in and overrule the mistake. Especially one that flagrant. The guy was a full stride away from the base. Even a blind man could have called that one.

I read a quote from Bud Selig stating he was not going to overturn the call, but he plans on forming a committee or taskforce to look at expanding the use of instant replay.

I'm so thankful that the city of Detroit and the fans of the Tigers handled themselves in a responsible way after the fact. That could have been really bad if fans took out their anger in not-so-good ways.

Galarraga and Joyce have been class acts. In this age of MLB players lying about steroid use, etc. it's refreshing to see someone own up their mistake and apologize for it.

Yup, class all around with that near perfect game. It was encouraging to see how everyone dealt with it. Another city, another pitcher, another umpire and it could have been so ugly.
