State Schools (your Public) from age 4 to age 18.

Infant School - age 4-6
Junior School - age 7-10
Grammar School - age 11-18

(Public School over here means something else entirely!)

Public school. Our tiny school was 1st - 12th, no kindy, and it was divided into elementary (1 - 6) and high school (7 - 12). Then I got a two year degree (in accounting) from a technical college.

Public schools K-12. I spent a fair amount of time being bored with them reteaching things I already knew (and we were in a good school district).

Who picked other, and what is it?

Public school (ours went up to grade 13 at the time), then university.

Had a brief bout with TMJ after getting my wisdom teeth out; wear a mouthguard to take the pressure off when I grind my teeth. When it's at its worst I get a fair bit of relief from trigger-point massage of a couple of the muscles inside the mouth. Sounds gross but it works. If anybody's curious, here's the book where I learned about jaw massage (among other things... love love love this book).

Public school - K-6 Elementary and 7-12 high school.

Then they tore down my high school. It was condemned in portions while I was attending! Nothing like a backdrop crashing to the stage DURING a performance to get the theatre looked at! They added a high school to the existing elementary.

My nephews and nieces attend school there now. Scarily enough they have some of the same teachers! Some that were just in their first few years when I was a high schooler are still there!

Blessings,

Garsy

I grew up going to public schools. My daughter went to a great elementary school, then a good middle school, then they redistrcited her to an o.k. middle school, then they redistricted her again so we started homeschooling her thru high school.

I had elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (9-13) too. My elementary school was great; it's closed now. My middle school wasn't bad, but I could have gotten into a lot of trouble there if I'd wanted to; let's just say I knew who all the drug dealers were. My high school was/is awesome.

When I was in university I considered teaching, so I volunteered at my old elementary school with the same teacher I had for grade 5. The kids had no concept of time; they kept asking if my teacher had had a hippie beard when I had him (in the mid-80s). LOL

I went to public school all 14 years (I repeated 7th grade because I didn't have enough education moving from Hawaii to Illinois). I had never heard of homeschooling until I was in high school, and private school was unheard of around the military bases I grew up around.

And I have TMJ.

(I also attended public high school 10-12, graduated with two degrees from a state university and a doctorate from a private university.)

K - 5 = public school
6 - 8 = private Christian school
9 - 11 = independent study courses. I guess it was homeschool, except my parents were not at all involved. If I needed help I asked my teacher from private school.
12 = public school with dual enrollment in community college

I removed my post..it was too personal.

However, let it be said that I am a product of christian, home, and public schooling, the majority of the time, christian or "christian" schools. You may pm me if you want further details.

Homeschooled. Participated in public-school band from 5th-9th grade (when we moved again); and 12th grade was partly homeschool/partly community college.
